Setting up retail stores for a premium European baby-care brand

The client is a leading Italian premium baby care brand with presence in more than 170 countries worldwide.

Project Background

The client was operating in India through a couple of distributors but wanted to ramp up its India operations and wanted Tecnova to recommend the suitable approach for doing so.


Tecnova conducted an in depth market analysis, consumer research and developed an India entry plan, launch strategy and business plan. Tecnova also set up client’s office in India, incorporated the Indian company and obtained all regulatory approvals including product registrations.

Tecnova also searched and appointed the franchisee partner and recruited the Country Head and other senior officials for the client in India.

Further, we provided incubation support to the client’s team including office space, accounting and admin services.

To help the client set up retail operations, Tecnova led the distribution and retail rollout that included short listing store locations, selection and finalization of partners for store design, operations, logistics and fit out and leading the launch of client’s flagship stores.


  • The client’s India operations started in 2010 and since then the brand has been able to create a formidable brand presence in the country. Today the brand has over 10 stand-alone stores in the country and a strong presence through online and multi-brand retail channels.
